The new building of Dilong Yimden “Salang Ki” was inaugurated today here at the community hall Dilong Ward, Mokokchung.

The new “Salang Ki” or customary court was inaugurated by R. Ayim Longkumer, president All Ward Union Mokokchung. A brief inaugural program was held where the dedicatory prayer for the new building was offered by Rev. P. Chuba Jamir, associate pastor MTBA.
Delivering a brief speech at the program, R. Ayim Longkumer, president All Ward Union Mokokchung said that unity and harmony was a prerequisite for a society to march ahead and quoted the proverb “there is strength in unity”.
He also highlighted numerous achievements under the initiative of All Ward Union Mokokchung for which the citizens have been benefitted to a large extend. However, he added that much more was left to be done for which he expressed his optimism that everything would be possible if there was unity.
The president was however apprehensive that external forces were at work to disrupt this unity for which he called upon all the concerned citizens to be aware of such developments and urged to tackle such forces through unity. He further called upon the officers and executives of the yimden to work sacrificially and with zeal for the betterment of the society. He concluded with the famous quote “ask not what your country can do for you -- ask what you can do for your country.”
Earlier in the program, the welcome address was delivered by Imdong Longchar GB, and the construction committee also gave their report. The vote of thanks was delivered by I. Tia Soyah, chairman Dilong Ward Yimden.
