Cutting, tailoring unit for special women

Cutting and tailoring unit for special women was inaugurated in Kiphire, where the inauguration programme was held at Government Higher Secondary School on August 19 under the theme “To empower our special women”. 

According to DIPR, the same launching programmes were also held in Pungro and Seyochung-Sitimi sub-division. 

In Kiphire, the programme was initiated by district administration Kiphire and Mahila Shakti Kendra (MSK).

The main objective of the setting up the unit was to provide training to under privileged young girls and women and the duration of the course will be of three to six months.

AST Kiphire president, S. LikhumlaSangtam thanked the district administration and Mahila Shakti Kendra for initiating the programme especially for the special women like single mother and under privileged women. 

She requested the district administration to provide the training facilities to skill the special women folks and to monitor and assist the training from time to time so that it will be a fruitful for the trainees.

Additional Deputy Commissioner Kiphire, Reny Wilfred in his speech said that almost 40 women will be trained during the six months. He also appealed them to work hard with sincerity and enthusiasm so that they can even export their products to other districts. 

He also called upon the trainers to take it as a  humble beginning as it has a huge potential to change their lives.

The programme was chaired by district coordinator Mahila Shakti Kendra, Kiphire, Albert.
