CVYS resolution against jungle burning

DIMAPUR | Publish Date: 4/13/2019 12:04:58 PM IST

Chümoukedima Village Youth Society (CVYS) has cautioned the area’s denizens to desist from igniting wildfires or burning jungles under its jurisdiction.

In a press release, CVYS  stated that despite issuing a public advisory, there have been isolated cases of miscreants starting jungle fires which have imperilled property and lives.

The CVYS  issued a stern warning that any person caught in the act, be it intentional or unintentional, would be dealt with as per customary laws and penalty would be imposed as per the standing resolution.

The society has also requested the public to promptly report any jungle fire to the CVYS  by contacting phone numbers 8415032685 or 8414847974.
