CYF enforces CPO ban in Phek district

Chakhesang Youth Front (CYF) went on a surprise checking drive in all Chakhesang inhabited areas of Phek district on April 5 and 6, as a follow up to the CPO’s ban on various activities in the area. 

The CPO has banned fishing, hunting, forest burning, collection of medicinal plants and illegal import of pigs. 

Chakhesang Youth Front president, Lhuvesayi Lohe and general secretary, Medovelo Sono in a press statement stated that the organization appreciated its subordinate youth bodies for supporting and cooperating with the Chakhesang Youth Front in implementing the ban. 

The youth body has also resolved to ban use of air guns within its jurisdiction, and agreed to fine defaulters.

The Chakhesang Youth Front, in the press release, also stated that it has accepted the apology letter from NPF 17th Chizami Assembly Constituency, for violating of the fishing and hunting ban during their office bearers meeting held from March 21 to 23 at Sarula River. 

The Chakhesang Youth Front has also informed members that it will hold its 11th general conference on December 12 and 13 at Bade village Dimapur and asked its subordinate youth bodies to prepare for the event.
