Don Bosco Higher Secondary School (DBHSS) Kohima organized its annual flower show on April 13 at the school auditorium, with proprietor of Naro Ki and partner at North Bengal Floritech Siliguri, Watila Longkumer as the special guest who inaugurated the event.

A press release from DBHSS Kohima stated that the special guest, in her message, said that students must work hard to achieve dreams they are passionate about with consistency and hard work.

The annual extravaganza was organized to keep children close to nature and foster aesthetics which, the press release added, has become urgently important as the world is losing natural areas and species in cataclysmic proportions. Students from class 3 to 12, in traditional attires, participated in the display of a variety of flowers and their arrangements.

D. Atso Chase entertained the gathering with the traditional GEI-Ü presentation and Viwenuo Viviana Suohu of class 10 spoke on the miracles of ecology.

Local florists were invited as judges for nine categories namely, fresh cutting flower and dry flower arrangements, potted flowers, potted evergreen, cactus, succulents, bonsai, orchids and fruits carving.

Certificates and mementos were given to winners of different categories of the annual flower show.

Participants from 26 colleges, 14 hostels and university halls, institutions, schools and students from Delhi-NCR participated in the event.

Around 7000 people, including the children and senior citizens, enjoyed the floral displays and fete. Popular stalls included educational exhibits on the Bio-diversity parks of Delhi; forest conservation: productivity and livelihood, as well as herbal and medicinal plants.
