DC Dimapur reviews poor results of Govt schools

Worried about the poor performance of Government Schools in Dimapur district in the recently declared HSLC and HSSLC examinations, DC Dimapur, Kevekha Kevin Zehol convened a reviewed meeting of all the principals, headmasters/headmistress of Government Schools under Dimapur district on May 17 at DEO’s office Dimapur.

According to DIPR, in the meeting, DC Dimapur complimented some of the few schools who fared well but impressed upon the poor performing schools to pull up their socks and do their homework properly in the coming years. 

Reminding them that the best paid government employees were the teachers, Kevin urged them to perform their duties with a missionary commitment as it concerns the future of the younger generation. 

He further reminded the teachers that they were the fortunate ones to be posted at Dimapur and cautioned them not to take things for granted but to deliver justice in their assigned tasks. Kevin also asked them to follow the protocols and procedures of government set up while discharging their official works. 

All the government institutional heads under Dimapur district presented a report of their school’s performance. Some of them highlighted on the problems faced by the schools like poor infrastructure, inadequate classrooms, shortage of manpower and rampant upgradation of schools without proper assessment of existing infrastructures. 

In this regard, DC directed them to give the complaints in written through the DEO and assured them to look into the genuine issues.

DEO Dimapur, Amongla also encouraged the gathering to be self-disciplined in order to achieve better results. 

She thanked the DC for showing his concern for the welfare of the student community.
