Deputy commissioner (DC), Mon Thavaseelan K has clarified to the news report published on March 18 in local dailies under the caption, “Meeting held on adopted village Angphang”. According to DIPR report, DC has issued clarification to clear confusion among the citizens of SAGY adopted village that Sansad Adarsh Gram Yojana is a scheme for adoption of village by the Member of Parliament. DC said that there are no schemes or fund provision available solely for the purpose of SAGY. The approach of this scheme is to converge different government schemes or programme, both existing and a new plan or schemes, for bringing about transparency and accountability in the public services and to trigger processes which lead to holistic development of the gram panchayat.

DC also clarified that the report should read as PHED department issued 2 water tanks, Forest department planted 5000 ornamental trees and constructed footsteps, Rural Development department has formed 43 self help groups under NRLM and not as published. Factual error is regretted, DC added.
