DC orders lifting of sealed areas in Kohima

Deputy commissioner Kohima Gregory Thejawelie has issued an order stating that in view of the detection of COVID-19 positive person at various locations of ward/colony/village in the district, the office of deputy commissioner Kohima has declared/demarcated those locations as a sealed area, whereby various restrictions were imposed to contain the spread of disease/infection and the area was kept under strict and active Medical surveillance and movement within the area was restricted/prohibited to the public.

According to DIPR report, contact tracing of the COVID-19 positive person was carried out in the sealed area(s) by the CMO co-ordination team led by district surveillance officer & epidemiologist Kohima and all the primary and secondary contacts were identified and tested for COVID-19 infection. With the completion of 14 days since the notification of sealing and subsequent initiation and completion of contact tracing activities, the deputy commissioner, Kohima has lifted all the sealed area(s) notified by the office on or before September 9 and declare that normal activities in all those locations are allowed to resume henceforth, as per various SOPs and Medical advisory/guidelines of the government which is still enforced. Order further stated that it will not be applicable to the “sealed areas” where recent COVID-19 positive cases were detected and also to those kept/monitored under home isolation. Order comes into force with immediate effect.
