DC Tuensang, Kumar Ramnikant has issued orders on August 10 that drivers/handymen/passengers of trucks bringing essential commodities to Tuensang town are de-boarding from their vehicles and mixing with local population.

According to DIPR report, despite repeated directions to shopkeepers/business establishments to ensure that no drivers/handyman/passengers of trucks de-board from their vehicles while unloading of goods, DC stated that this unsafe practice remains unchecked.

In view of this and as decided in the Tuensang DTF on COVID-19 meeting held on August 7, shopkeepers/business establishments have been directed to ensure that no drivers/handymen/passengers of trucks de-board from their vehicles while unloading goods.

Further, DC informed that failure to comply with this order shall invite penalty on shopkeepers/business establishments concerned as per various provisions of the Law.
