Dimapur Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI) conducted a surprise checking along with law enforcing agencies, as majority of business community were functioning without adhering to the SOPs.

A press release by DCCI president Akashe Zhimomi stated that, the DCCI was surprised to find out the lackadaisical attitude, where many shops and shopkeepers were not even wearing face mask and endangering public health.
DCCI warned the business community that due to callousness of few shops and shop keepers, it will not allow them to jeopardise the functioning of entire business community, which has been affected throughout the year. DCCI cautioned them to strictly comply with the district administration SOP order of wearing face mask, face shield, keeping hand sanitizers and maintaining proper physical distancing in the shop. DCCI further stated that, any shop or shop keeper defying the order will be strictly dealt with to the extent of sealing of shop as the situation has become a matter of grave concern.
DCCI also asked for public corporation and requested the shoppers to report non-compliance by shop/shopkeepers to the DCCI grievances cell, police and administration and also desist from buying from those shops not complying with SOP for their own safety and to check the spread of COVID-19 infection.
