DCs Phek, Wokha notify landowners and other agencies

Deputy commissioner, Phek, Sachin Jaiswal has directed all the landowners/other governmental/non-governmental agencies that under section 9 (2) of the Nagaland Land Requisition and Acquisition Act 1965 for construction of 2-laning of Kohima -Jessami Road (Bharatmala Pariyojana) to clear up/vacate the compensated buildings, plantations, fisheries and any other structures on the ROW along packages III, IV & V within 15 days from the date of issue of this order. According to DIPR report, after the stipulated date the land, compensated properties along the ROW would be taken possession of by the National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporations Limited (MORTH) for construction of 2-laning of Kohima-Jessami Road (Bharatmala Pariyojana) immediately without any further notice.

Meanwhile, the deputy commissioner (DC), Wokha, Orenthung Lotha has informed that it has come to the notice of the administration that some individuals were constructing buildings/structures along the NH-2 stretch starting from KM 101 to KM 125 (Tsungiki second bazaar to Doyang bridge). The assessment for property damage compensation for building/structures along the stretch starting from 101 to KM 125 (Tsungiki second bazaar to Doyang bridge) for widening of single lane to 2 lane was carried out in the year 2017-18 and has already been completed and notified and tender for the same is under process. It has also been reported by the NH department that new constructions within the ROW are being carried out which was in contravention to the earlier verification carried out by the NH team and the district administration in co-ordination with the village councils.

In this regard, the concerned individuals have been directed to restrain and refrain themselves from carrying out any further unauthorized development activities over the land within the ROW. It has also been informed that any new development activities by way of constructing structures/building within the earmarked ROW will not be accounted for compensation and all such structures/buildings constructed including those under construction will be at the risk of the individuals concerned themselves.
