Dimapur District GBs Association (DDGBA) has extended support to Nagaland GBs Federation (NGBF) fact findings on delay of Bio Safety Level-3 (BSL-3) in Dimapur, considering the threat that is being caused by the COVID-19 and also Dimapur being the only commercial hub of the state and gateway to other neighbouring states.

A press release from DDGBA president Khehovi V. Chophi and general secretary L. Ponghok Phom expressed apprehension that people were being exposed to imminent danger because of “delay and lackadaisical attitude, we never know how much the threats going undetected and are let loose.”

While asserting the government need to address the issue at the earliest, the DDGBU also expressed dissatisfaction at the government’s handling of stranded citizens outside due to   “poor functioning of the apps and website created for the stranded people, many are still unaware or unable to avail the financial assistance.”

While lauding those who decided to stay back, the DDGBA appealed the state government to take extra care of them and “initiate more exigency programmes for further assistance and aid, and also address their grievances in the coming days too.” DDGBA also appealed to all those returning home to follow the protocols and criterion to go through mandatory quarantine period and also for further instructions.
