Dimapur District Gorkha Indigenous Forum (DDGIF) extended its heartfelt gratitude to the State government for extending Inner Line Permit (ILP) to the entire Dimapur district with immediate effect.

According to a statement issued by the forum, this was a genuine demand of tribal hohos headed by Joint Commission for Prevention of Illegal Immigrants (JCPI) to safeguard the interests of indigenous people of the State as Dimapur district had become a safe haven for illegal immigrants, who had entered the State before and after NRC exercise in Assam and affecting the indigenous people in various aspects.

DDGIF said the inclusion of Dimapur district under the purview of ILP would help the government determine and detect genuine Indians from the illegal immigrants entering the State.

The forum also extended its heartfelt gratitude to Joint Commission for Prevention of Illegal Immigrants.
