Deer calf rescued at Dihoma village

Nagaland Zoological Park (NZP) Rangapahar, Dimapur received a female deer calf, which was handed over to the department of environment, forest and climate change by NDPP Northern Angami-II youth wing president, Vizotuonyü Lhoungu.

In a press release, Lhoungu reportedly rescued the deer calf from the forest of Dihoma village, Kohima on April 10 and handed it over to deputy ranger and in-charge of Blyth’s Tragopan breeding centre Kohima, Medolezo Kire. 
Meanwhile, deputy ranger along with staff has handed over the calf to NZP Rangapahar and is currently within the safe zone. 
The department appreciated the gesture of Lhoungu towards protecting the wild animals.
