DEO briefs Zonal, Sector magistrates

A coordination meeting of Zonal magistrate and Sector magistrate along with master trainer was held at the Deputy Commissioner’s conference hall, Kohima on Tuesday.

According to DIPR report, giving a final briefing for the smooth conduct of Lok Sabha election 2019 to be held on April 11, DC and DEO Kohima, Anoop Khinchi said that the Zonal magistrate will be the overall in-charge, however, the sector magistrate also has an important role for the successful conduct of the election. He therefore, asked them to check their respective polling stations where proper voting compartments have been set up and to ensure that the secrecy of the vote should not be compromise. 

DC also asked the sector officers to ensure that all the polling materials and important forms collected by their polling teams before they move out for their respective polling stations. 

He also pointed out that the most important task of the sector officers on the poll day will be the mock poll where they have to ensure that the mock poll starts in time (6 am) before the actual polling process. 

DC further asked them to keep in touch with their respective polling stations within the first two hours of the polling day by visiting their polling stations. He also reminded them on the Form 17C which has to be deposited.

ADC Lithrongla Tongpi Rutsa, AEO Toshimeren and master trainer, Chubayanger also briefed the gathering on the importance of mock poll where certain things has to be taken care and also to report immediately if any failure of EVM and VVPAT occurs on the polling day.
