DGC, ACK & JNAC observe parting socials

Dimapur Government College (DGC) held its 53rd parting social for BA and B. Com 6th semester students at college auditorium, with deputy commissioner (DC) Dimapur, Kevekha Kevin Zehol as special guest on March 26.  

A press release by DGC publicity and media cell convenor, assistant professor of English A. Sentiyula stated that, chief guest in his speech drew the attention of the students towards the larger league of competition in the academic world and encouraged them to take the “small step for man” which would lead to the giant leap for mankind.  He also released the college annual magazine “Pursuit,” published by the magazine committee, DGC, with Imtikokla, assistant professor Economics as convenor. 
Principal Kavili Jakhalu, in her exhortation encouraged the students to strive for excellence.
Witadthiu Meriam, B.A. 6th semester, speaking on behalf of the outgoing students, said that a phase of life and study may have ended for the outgoing students but it was also the beginning of another phase of learning towards success as reward of the teachers’ hard labour. 
Earlier, the programme was chaired by assistant professor of Pol. Sc, Moamongla Aier, and invocation for outgoing students by assistant professor of English, Suzzana Yaden. Outgoing students were also felicitated with souvenirs for remembrance and good wishes. Vote of thanks was delivered by Ajeih Konyak, AGS, DGCSC. There was also a screening of the movie “I am Banni”, for the social cause of “Beti Bachao Beti Padhao” mission.
ACK: Alder College Kohima (ACK) also organized its annual parting social programme in the college auditorium on March 22.  A press release from ACK media cell stated that chairman of Alder College, Kevi Liegise described life as a ladder and likened the steps to people’s daily lives. He said “it is how we live our lives on a day to day basis that will determine the quality and nature of our whole life”. Principal Dr. Rükhono K. Iralu delivered the welcome address and Megosano Dolie, Alder College Fellowship (ACF) supervisor, said the invocation. A speech was delivered by Akhenyü Khing on behalf of outgoing students and Elina Dzüvichü, assistant general secretary of Alder College Students Union (ACSU) spoke on behalf of the student body. A special prayer was dedicated to the outgoing students by Avonuo Iralu co-ordinator, Power Comm. UBC Kohima. A vote of thanks was delivered by Vikupu Awomi, finance secretary, ACSU.
JNAC Dimapur: JN Aier College (JNAC) Dimapur organized its 6th parting social under the theme “Nostalgia” on March 23 with Leonard Aier, principal of Dimapur City Law College (DCLC) as the guest motivator. 
According to JNAC Dimapur media cell, Leonard encouraged the students to put God as their first priority in life and focus on leading an honest life. A farewell speech on behalf of the outgoing students was delivered by Athia and Anito, speech on behalf of the present semester students was delivered by Tovitoli of 4th semester and speech on behalf of teachers was delivered by Khenili Kiho.
