Dimapur Government College (DGC) observed its fresher’s-&-cultural day on Friday at the college auditorium organised by DGC students’ council.

Exhorting the students, DGC principal, Kavili Jakhalu stated that to choose a dull and unsuccessful life or colourful and successful life was the choice of the students. The principal reminded the students to be intelligent with their studies, respect their teachers, acknowledge and appreciate non teaching staff, and complete their activities on time.
Jakhalu urged the students to take advantage of the college library by paying it regular visits and cultivate the habit of reading books. She also urged them to participate in games & sports, literary & cultural programs and other curricular activities of the college, which, she said, would skill them in many ways.
Recalling the time when DGC was recognized as the cleanest institution, she asked the students to pay attention to cleanliness in and around the college campus. Citing examples from inspirational stories, Jakhalu exhorted the students to be determined to achieve their goals.
Sungjemyanger Imchen was adjudged the Mister fresher DGC 2018, while Irangsa Cerai was crowned Miss fresher DGC 2018; Mister and Miss perfect titles were bagged by Ninito K, and Tongtikala Longchar respectively; while Mister and Miss talent titles were bagged by Kipabo Z.
