The 4th quarter district review meeting of 2019-20 was held at Helsa Resort, Mon on February 19, attended by all the block medical officers, nurses, DPMU staff and the DPOs of the vertical programmes.

A press release from NHM Mon media officer, Leeyan Chemshy stated that, CMO Dr. Kechongol Sophie announced and congratulated the award winning health units and the best performing staff who were awarded during the Independence Day celebration at Mon.

Powerpoint presentations were given from all the six blocks concerning their achievements, grievances and the present status of their health units, followed by the review from Dr Limatula Aier, DPO, NVBDCP, Mon.

Dr Limatula highlighted on the major problems faced by the department which were absenteeism, substitution and some of the recent overlooked redeployment of the nurses which will be dealt within the district level at the earliest with stringent action. She also brought light to the concern of Tobu block where there was a high rate of scrub typhus outbreak, and therefore to add doxycycline and azithromycin (antibiotics) to their medicine list and to purchase it with their HU fund.

Dr Limatula requested the nurses to coordinate with the ASHAs and to add ASHA reports in their monthly RCH & HMIS reports.

She also touched on the manpower deficiency and requested the authority of the health units and their staff to mull over upon the policy of “show work and then you’ll get”. Also on the issue of Changlangshu, about the fences and the water harvest tank, she said that the district authority will discuss on the matter and will approach the Nagaland health project about it.

Programme was chaired by Dr Kechongol Sophie, CMO, Mon, invocation by Trejongba Sangtam, cashier CMO, Mon and vote of thanks by Dr Limatula Ao, Dy CMO Mon.
