DHS Phek holds World Population Day review meeting

District Health Society (DHS) Phek held its review meeting for the upcoming program on World Population Day and Population Stabilization Fortnight to be observed from July 11 to 24 under the theme “Start a Meaningful Tomorrow with Family Planning” on July 7. According to a DIPR report, Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Phek, Dr. Laso Lazar called upon the health workers to improve the reporting system as it reflects the performance status of the district. He urged the staff to submit the documentation and report on time.
Deputy CMO, Dr. Vethihulu, in his welcome address, appealed to the health workers to be available at their posting places and be sincere in their duties. District Program Officer (DPO) RCH-UIP Phek Dr. Kolhitso Khalo, highlighted the overview activities to be organised during the Population Stabilization Fortnight. He said that mobilization fortnight started from June 27 and would continue till July 10. He requested the Medical Officers, block ASHA coordinators, ANMs, IEC staff and block program managers to continue mobilizing the community under their jurisdictions. He directed the block officials to conduct family planning counselling and motivate the target couples to opt for any family planning method during the fortnight. The activities such as distribution of IEC materials on family planning, condoms and oral contraceptive pills will be done in all the health units.
The meeting was attended by block SMOs, MOs, BAMs, BPMs, BAC and NHM staff.
