Dimapur Police crime reports

Dimapur Police, through the Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police/PRO, has released another batch of crime reports. All the cases are from the month of November.

Two-wheeler theft: On November 16, Dimapur Police apprehended one rajapeyu of NSCN (I-M), Shekato Swu (28 yrs); Phishu, V.K. Town, Zunheboto, resident of Toluvi village, Dimapur; while trying to steal a Scooty and seized one screwdriver, one knife and a pair of pliers from his possession.
Improvised Explosive Device (IED) materials: On November 12, Dimapur Police apprehended one Gladstone Newmai (24 yrs), son of late Mahenwang Newmai, Kainadung, Tamei, Tamenglong, Manipur, and seized 120 gelatin sticks, 100 detonators, two rolls of fuse wire measuring 100 meters. He was arrested at the Dimapur railway station platform.
Stealing stone chips: On November 15, Dimapur Police arrested one Kasim Ali (24 yrs), son of late Aktar Ali, village Mirate, Nanglamai, present address Ward-7, Medziphema; for stealing stone chips meant for the highway under construction (ECI Company). One Autorickshaw was seized from his possession.
Extortion: On November 4, Dimapur Police, Anti Extortion Team (AET) arrested one Tinku Paul (28 yrs), son of late Hari Das, Borpathar, Kalibari, Surupathar, present address Railway Colony, Dimapur. He was arrested from Netaji Colony, Dimapur, for collecting illegal tax in the name of NSCN (I-M). Sixteen) extortion slips of the NSCN (I-M) and Rs 1000 cash were seized from his possession.
Cigarette smuggling: On November 9, Dimapur Police arrested one Md Abash Khan (31 yrs), son of Tayud Ali, Barayangbi Thoubal Leikai, Moirang, Beshnupur, Manipur for illegal transportation of 82 cartons of foreign cigarettes.
Peddling drugs: On November 13, Dimapur police, arrested two persons on charges of drug peddling: Yoami Kasar (33 yrs) son of Mingkhai Kasar, Halong, Ukrul, Manipur, present address: H/No. 20, Rongmei colony, Burma camp, Dimapur; and Rebecca (35 yrs), Makhan under Senapati district, Manipur. Approximately thirteen grams of suspected contraband brown sugar packed in a soap case and three bottles of cough syrup (Elturex) were seized from their possession.
