Dimapur Police crime reports

Dimapur Police, through its ADCP & PRO, has release another batch of crime reports all registered in the month of April. In all of the incidents, cases have been registered at the relevant police stations.

8 arrested on extortion charges

On April 25, Dimapur Police Anti-Extortion Team (AET) apprehended one Tovi Swu (29 years), deputy secretary NPGN/NNC (N/A) of Pishikhe village, Dimapur while he was collecting tax from autorickshaw drivers at Purana Bazar Daily Market area. Rs.1400 cash, four leaflets of yearly vehicle tax slips, and one demand note addressed to the president and working members of Bamboo Union Dimapur, were seized from his possession. The accused said that he was collecting Rs.700 per autorickshaw as yearly tax.

On April 24, the AET apprehended one Kheshito Zhimomi (29 years), “razupiou” NSCN (I-M), present address Sringrijan, Dimapur, when he was collecting Rs. 2000 yearly tax per truck at ISBT junction Purana Bazar Dimapur. Rs.4080 cash and 18 tax slips of the NSCN (K) were seized from his possession. 

On April 23, the AET apprehended one Jubito Yepthomi (26 years), present address New Colony, Purana Bazar, while he was collecting tax from truck drivers at ISBT junction Purana Bazar Dimapur. Rs. 6860 and 29 tax slips of three NPGs were seized from his possession. The accused stated he was a sympathizer of the NSCN(K), NSCN (R) and NNC (N/A) and was collecting yearly tax from drivers of Rs. 4000 for NSCN(K), Rs. 2000 for NSCN(R) and Rs. 1500 for NNC (N/A).

On April 24, Dimapur Police apprehended one Inato Yeptho (32 years), present address Khehokhu village Dimapur. One mobile handset, Rs. 200 cash, four NNC/GPRN (N/A) information yearly tax slips were seized from his possession. 

On April 22, Dimapur Police apprehended one Inahoto Yeptho, rajepuye of NSCN (I-M) UT-I while he was carrying out extortion activities from butchers at Purana Bazar Daily Market Dimapur. Rs. 1375 cash was seized from his possession. 

On April 22, Dimapur Police apprehended one Vito Awomi while he was extorting cash from truck drivers at Naharbari sand stockiest area Dimapur. He was a sympathizer of NNC (N/A) and was collecting yearly tax from commercial trucks loaded with sand. Rs.2000 cash was seized from his possession. 

On April 16, Dimapur Police apprehended one Akishe (27 years), “lance corporal” of NSCN(K), present address Eralibill Dimapur, when he was extorting cash from trucks stationed at sand stock near TK Service. Rs. 8200 cash, 35 Spasmoproxyvon capsules, four Nitrosun and one mobile handset was seized from his possession. 

On April 13, AET apprehended one Phuketo (34 years), present address IMC Hall, Supply colony Dimapur, while he was collecting tax from fish and vegetable vendors at New Market area in the name of NSCN (U). Rs.1500 cash was seized from his possession.

2 arrested with banned drugs

On April 24, Dimapur GRPS personnel, during routine checking at Platform No. 5, Railway station Dimapur, apprehended one Babul Hussain (22 years), and seized 185 boxes of Spasmoproxyvon tablets containing 26,640 capsules and 16 boxes of Nitrosun tablets containing 1600 capsules, from his possession.

On April 14, Dimapur Police apprehended one Dhurba Sharma (a.k.a Sunny), 49 years, from Bata Charali and seized approximately 4000 capsules of spasmoproxyvon from his possession.
