Dimapur to hold mass social work every Sat

Dimapur Municipal Council (DMC) has informed all the citizens under Dimapur municipality that there would be mass social work for removal of stagnant water in respective households starting from this April, every Saturday from 7 to 8 a.m. The proposed mass social work has been ordered in view of the starting of the transmission period for Vector Borne Disease (Malaria, Dengue and Japanese Encephalitis). 

In an order, DMC administrator Moa Sangtam has, therefore, informed all residents of Dimapur municipal area to completely remove/drain stagnant water within their respective house compounds from household utensils, flowerpots, drains etc. DMC has informed the colony chairmen/GBs to monitor the social work and authorized them to impose a fine of Rs. 500 if any household was found with stagnant water within their compound.
