Diphupar B village forms COVID-19 Task Committee

Diphupar B village has formed its own COVID-19 Task Committee to oversee and monitor all COVID related activities under the village jurisdiction.

Diphupar B Village, led by its council chairman Kahuto N. Chishi, village council members, Naga Women Welfare Society, Naga Youth Organization, Diphupar B Village and various tribal bodies have come together to form a 7-member ‘COVID 19 Task Committee’.

According to the K. Nuh VCM and member of the task committee, the objective was to assist returnees and monitor the situation 24x7 within the vicinity of the village.

Nuh also said that various churches in the village-- Chakhesang Church, Ao Church, Sema Church, Yimchunger and Lotha Church have come forward and offered their church facilities to be utilized as quarantine centres. 

At present, he said five quarantine centres were fully functional. He said around 121 returnees have registered and listed to be lodged in these QCs till December 2020, while 85 returnees have already returned home after completing their stay at the village run QCs. He said that four persons were still under community quarantine homes, while 16 households were placed under home quarantine.

Nuh said that the members from Naga Women Welfare Society Diphupar B Village has taken the responsibility to provide nutritious balance diet to all the returnees, while the Naga Youth Organization members were working round the clock, keeping strict vigil to ensure that security, safety and wellbeing of every citizen in the village.

He said that movement of labourers were strictly monitored and have been advised to follow all safety measures.

The village council has been supporting the needy families by providing ration and distribution of clean drinking water etc. donated by good Samaritans of the village, he added.

While there have been instances of frontline workers across the state being harassed by their house owners, Nuh said that Diphupar B Village has gone out of their way to protect and assist the frontline workers in every possible ways by supporting and assisting them both within and even outside the village jurisdiction.

The ‘COVID 19 Task Committee’ is headed by Anito N Shohe, VCM as convenor. It may be mentioned that the committee had also organized an awareness program on COVID 19 in the village, with Dr. Randemo as resource person.
