Diphupar inter-khel football begins

The 20th Inter-Khel Football Tournament of Diphupar village organised by Diphupar Naga Youth Organisation-cum-DCYSA commenced Monday morning at Diphupar village ground.

Hovishe Achumi, accountant, Rural Development Department graced the inaugural function as special guest.

Addressing the gathering, Hovishe termed Diphupar as a gifted village where different tribes live in brotherhood. Village as a whole must portray the same spirit of unity to other villages, he said.

Stressing on the development aspects of the village, Achumi was of the view that all must come together, encouraging one another and work collectively for all progress of the village.

Wishing the event to serve the purpose of promoting oneness, he lauded the organisers for organising the event as an annual meet and also encouraged the players to compete in healthy and sporting spirit.

The inaugural function was chaired by Zuthungbemo K. Ngullie. Ajano M. Odyuo, youth director, LBDC offered the invocation prayer. Kikheto Sumi, president, DNYO delivered welcome address. Nzanbeni Kithan presented a song while Pongjelewang, games and sports secretary, DNYO administered oath to the participating teams.
