In response to the news items pertaining to delay in distribution of government school text books, published on April 10, the Director of School Education and HoD, Wothungo Tsopoe has assured students that the distribution of textbooks will be completed by next week. Tsopoe informed Nagaland Post that a consignment has already reached Dimapur and the publishers have been directed to dispatch the remaining textbooks at the earliest.

Tsopoe explained that the shortage of textbooks occurred due to mismatch in the number of textbooks required sent to the department and the actual number of students in classes. The textbook shortage affected some classes of government schools in Dimapur, he added. He stated the shortage could be because of the increase in enrolment but was positive that students should get their textbooks by next week.
