District administrations issue orders and advisories

 DC Kohima informs

Deputy commissioner Kohima, Gregory Thejawelie has informed that in order to facilitate shopping for the general public on account of Mothers’ Day which falls on May 10, all categories of shops in Kohima are hereby allowed to remain open during permitted hours on May 8 and 9. The general public and shopkeepers are further directed to maintain safe practices such as social distancing, sanitising/washing of hands and to wear mask at all times.

DC Peren promulgates 144 CRPC 

In compliance with the Chief Secretary of Nagaland new guidelines on lockdown measures, the deputy commissioner of Peren, Sentiwapang Aier has issued an order for promulgation of section 144 CRPC in Peren district to prohibit the movement of any individuals for all non essential activities with immediate effect from May 6 in between 5 p.m to 6 a.m till May 17. 

According to DIPR report, till such time movement/assembly of 5 (five) or more persons will be strictly prohibited and violation of the aforementioned will tantamount to punitive punishment under section 188 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

DC Longleng notifies

DC Longleng has reiterated that the following precautionary measures to control and contain the spread of Covid-19 be strictly adhered compulsorily. 

According to DIPR report, the following measures are to be followed: All shopkeepers/owners/workers, of business establishments will compulsorily wear face mask in their shop's/business establishments; All citizens entering the town/stepping out of their homes for shopping or any other purposes shall compulsorily wear face mask; Social distancing shall be maintained compulsorily. Non-compliance of the aforementioned and penalized as per relevant sections of law.

DC Tuensang permits local taxis to ply

In pursuance to the order received from the office of the chief secretary Nagaland, deputy commissioner (DC) Tuensang, Kumar Ramnikant has issued an order to all concerned that local taxis are permitted to ply within Tuensang district with the condition that they carry not more than two passengers. 

According to DIPR report, both the driver and passengers should wear masks. Further, the driver should make mandatory provision for hand sanitiser, failing which the permit shall be cancelled. The fares to be charged shall be at the rate prescribed before the announcement of lockdown measures.

Fair price shops informed

In pursuant to the provision under the National Food Security Act 2013, assistant director of Supply, Dimapur, reminded all fair price shops and village councils FPSs to strictly issue the food grains to the beneficiaries as prescribed rate and quantity.

DIPR reported that assistant director cautioned that failure to adhere to the order will invite action as per provision of the act.

DC Mon advisory for inter-district movement

In pursuance of the state government May 5 order regarding the inter-district movement for stranded persons, deputy commissioner (DC) Mon, Thavaseelan K has issued the travel advisories for strict compliance in respect of Mon district. According to DIPR report, DC Mon has issued the following travel advisories: 1. Movement passes for small private vehicles to be issued by the concerned administrative officers. 2. Respective medical officers shall issue medical clearance certificates. 3. The concerned administrative officers to coordinate with their respective medical officers to maintain records of stranded persons moving out from their respective sub-divisions. 4. Stranded persons without medical clearance certificates from medical officers will not be allowed to travel. 5. The screening for stranded persons from Mon Town and Mon Sadar villages will be conducted at Flu Clinic, District Hospital, Mon on May 7, 11 a.m. 6. Route Chart: Nagaland State Transport buses will take the Nagaland-Assam route escorted by Police without any stoppages in Assam. Small private vehicles travelling to other districts may take the following route: Mon-Wakching-Tamlu-Merangkong-Mokokchung-Wokha-Kohima-Dimapur. Mon-Aboi-Longching-Longleng-Mokokchung-Wokha-Kohima-Dimapur. Mon-Aboi-Tobu-Tuensang-Mokokchung-Wokha-Kohima-Dimapur. 7. The transportation of stranded persons from Mon district to other districts will start from May 8. In this regard, those stranded persons who have registered themselves at the DC’s office or respective sub-divisions are asked to report at NST Station near Konyak Baptist Church, Mon town on May 8, 6 a.m. 8. All the administrative officers are requested to tie up with the respective village councils/civil societies for transportation of returning stranded persons from Mon town to their respective villages.

Advisory on lockdown

DC Mon also informed that as per the revised guidelines all movement of individuals for non-essential activities shall remain strictly prohibited between 5 p.m. to 6 a.m.

According to DIPR report, in exercise of the powers under Section 144 of the Criminal Procedure Code, 1973, the DC has promulgated the following prohibitory order in the interest of public health, public safety and public order in Mon district till further orders. 1. Movement of individuals for all non-essential activities are strictly prohibited from 5 p.m. to 6 a.m. 2. All vehicular movement of non-essential nature is prohibited.

The order will, however, not apply to Police/Army/Para-Military forces/magistrates on duty/doctors and staff of Health & Family Welfare and persons engaged in emergency services. DC warned that any one violating the aforesaid order will be liable for punishment under Section 188 of the Indian Penal Code. DC Mon has further notified that curfew in Mon District 5 p.m. to 6 a.m. in line with government of Nagaland order.
