District level trg on RVV in Dmu

Two-day district level training on rotavirus vaccine (RVV) and routine immunization strengthening was organised for medical officers and National Health Mission (NHM) programme managers of all the blocks on June 18-19 at Circuit House, Dimapur.

A press release by the department stated that the training was held as part of preparedness activities to introduce RVV in Dimapur district.
On the first day of the training, the trainees were oriented on UIP and its achievements and RVV and its impact. The trainees were also oriented on the prevention and management on diarrhoeas, the dosage, schedule and mode of administration of RVV, the cold-chain and vaccine management, AEFI surveillance and management, and Communication and social mobilization.
On the second day, the trainees were oriented on safe injection and waste disposal and how to strengthen the Routine Immunization (RI). 
The resource persons during the training were DPO UIP-UIP, Dr. Rebecca Y. Sema; Dr. Narola, Dr. Michelle, Dr. Caroline and Pilano. 
State immunization officer, Kohima, Dr. Ritu Thurr, chief medical officer (CMO) Dimapur, Dr. K.Vikato Kinimi and deputy CMO, Dr. Antoly and consultant UNICEF, Marykali, attended the training as observers.
