Districts, sub-division hold PDB meetings

The January Planning & Development Board (PDP) meetings for Pughoboto, Wokha and Mokokchung were held on January 7 and on 9. Work distribution for the upcoming Republic Day celebrations was the common feature of all the meetings.

Pughoboto: The first meeting of the Pughoboto Sub Divisional Planning & Development Board (SDPDB) for 2019 was held with the SDPDB chairman & MLA, Y. Vikheho Swu at the Customary Court hall, Pughoboto on January 9.

A DIPR report stated that ADC Pughoboto, Phuleshe K. Yepthomi reviewed the last meeting minutes. The MLA conveyed New Year greetings and lauded the division officers for their contributions in the last year and asked them to rededicate their services to change Pughoboto. He also sought their cooperation for more developmental activities in their areas. The MLA also said he had a plan to award the best village chairman and best VDB secretary.

Departmental training and adoption of High School Pughoboto and Ghathashi were discussed in the meeting. Action plans for adoption of both GHSs, which will be initiated by department officers starting from the month of February till December, was read out by the ADC. The printed program for the ensuing Republic Day celebrations was also distributed in the meeting. The house entrusted the CDPO and the Election department to give slide-show presentations in next SDPDB meeting.

Wokha: The monthly DPDB meeting for the month of January for Wokha district was held on January 9 at the DC’s Conference Hall.

A DIPR report stated that vice chairman DPDB & DC Wokha, Dr. Manazir Jeelani Samoon, welcomed the members and extended New Year greetings.

The chairman welcomed new DPDB member, DFO, Doyang Chisayi, and work for the Republic Day Celebrations was distributed in the meeting. 

The department of Power and Legal Services presented a slide-show presentation on their activities in the district. Nagaland State Legal Service Authority (NLSSA) project coordinator, Limasenla Longkumer, while highlighting department activities in the district, said that the department will conduct a Mega Legal Camp on January 19.

She also stressed on the objective of the camp which is to provide free legal aid in the nature of counselling and providing free legal services for any case or legal proceedings before the Courts, Tribunals or other authorities.

The Medical and Tourism departments were entrusted with giving presentations of their activities in the district, in the next meeting.

Mokokchung: The monthly meeting of Mokokchung District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) was held on January 7 at the ADC’s (Planning) Conference Hall under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner and vice-chairman, Mokokchung DPDB, Sachin Jaiswal.

According to DIPR, bringing New Year greetings to all DPDB members, Jaiswal appealed to the members to once again join hands and work together for the welfare of the people in the district, so that Mokokchung DPDB, which is the highest decision making body of the district, could have another successful year.

In the meeting the DC also read out the work distribution of different departments for the upcoming Republic Day Celebrations on January 26 which will be held at Imkongmeren Sports Complex, Mokokchung.
