DLCW-MSK imparts skill training to empower women
Resource person imparting the skill of jewelry making to the trainees at the programme in Dimapur.

District administration and District Level Centre for Women-MSK, BBBP, organised two-day training programme in jewelry making under the theme “empowering women through skill development” for unemployed women, single mothers and school dropout girls at DC conference hall, Dimapur on November 6 and 7. 

A press release by DLCW-MSK Dimapur stated that, EAC Hq (development) and also the nodal officer of DLCW-MSK, Dimapur, Avonuo Kire graced the session and encouraged the participants to make the best use of the opportunity and to polish their skills for empowering themselves. She also stated that due to the ongoing pandemic, there was a lot of unemployment issue and lack of opportunities for livelihood. While pointing out that jewelry making and marketing through e-commerce can be a very good opportunity for them to be independent economically as it was the current trend among people, she also said that people from outside the state prefer locally made products. Avonuo appreciated the efforts taken up by the team of DLCW-MSK and also assured that district administration and the DLCW-MSK, Dimapur would always be there to support women & children in the coming future. Resource person of the session was Moasola Jamir, a young entrepreneur from Kohima, wherein she taught the trainees to make different types of earrings with limited amount of resources. 

Earlier, welcome address was delivered by district coordinator, DLCW-MSK, Dimapur. Two best trainees were selected by ADC, Dimapur V Lovitoly Sema, at the end of the training and were provided with certificates and cash prizes. Altogether 20 participants attended and were also provided with certificates at the end of the programme.
