DMHSS, HSS honour successful students

Dimapur Mission Higher Secondary School (DMHSS) on Friday honoured the successful candidates of HSLC and HSSLC examination 2019 at the felicitation programme held at DABA town fellowship. 

Addressing the gathering, chairman, governing board, K. Temjen Jamir, appreciated and acknowledged the students for brining good results to the school. He also acknowledged the teachers, for their efforts not only inside the class rooms but also outside the class rooms. 

Gulam Sarbar, who secured Top 3 position in the HSLC examination, in his speech dedicated his victory to the Almighty God and his parents.   

Gulam opined that his success was not achieved only through hard work but through combined contribution and dedication of many people. 

He stated that he was always guided and encouraged by his teachers, whom he considered as next to his parents. Indicating that a house needs pillars to stand, he stated that he was able to achieve his success through DMHSS guidance.     

Felicitation for the students was initiated by member of governing body, Dr. Jamedi Longkumer. Gulam Sarbar was felicitated with cash award and citation while students securing distinction marks were felicitated with cash awards. 

Words of appreciation and prayers for the students were said by pastor DABA, Rev. I. Wati while HSLC and HSSLC examination results of DMHSS was delivered by Principal, DMHSS, Alemtushi Imchen. 

Earlier, the programme was chaired by board member, Dr. Maongkala Longchar and invocation proposed by Youth Director, DABA, Limaakum. 

A special number was presented by Class 12 students and benediction by chaplain, DMHSS, Merensola. 

 HSS: Herbert Spencer School (HSS), Walford, Dimapur also organised a felicitation and career guidance programme in the school campus on Friday with Captain Mayank, 6th Sector, Assam Rifles as the resource person.

Speaking on the occasion, Captain Mayank congratulated the 13 successful candidates who passed in first division in the recently declared High School Leaving Certificate exam. While reminding the students to work hard and not to give up on studies, the resource person also encouraged the students to be faithful to their parents and teachers. He also encouraged the students to join the Indian armed force.

It may be mentioned here that Herbert Spencer School recorded a 100 per cent pass percentage in the recently declared HSLC exam with seven students scoring distinction marks in Social Studies, five in Alternative English, four in Mathematics, four in English while sex students scored distinction in Foundation in Information Technology.

Chairman of the school, Kevise Sogotsu said the blessing prayer for the students while the vote of thanks was proposed by K. Tariwang, headmaster.
