DoH&FW monitoring team visits Wokha CMO’s office

A state monitoring team from the Directorate of Health & Family Welfare (DoH&FW) led by Dr. Kevichusa Medikhru, mission director National Health Mission (NHM) and Dr. W. N Ezung state programme officer (NCD) along with state NVBDCP staff, Keneingutuo M&E consultant, Ngangnenmongba PSCM consultant, Imsubenla Public Health consultant, Bendangnaro IEC/BCC consultant, Lothungbeni, finance consultant, visited the Wokha CMO’s office on August 23. 

A press release from media officer, NHM Wokha, Mhonbeni Ezung stated that, CMO, Dr. Robin Lotha as chairperson appraised the state team on the various program activities that were being carried out in the district. Dr. W.N Ezung spoke on the APAR new rules and regulations pertaining to transfer and posting of medical officers, which should be strictly adhered to. He also suggested that district nodal officers be nominated for checking and validation of monthly reports before sending it to the directorate. He emphasized on the Non-Communicable Diseases (NCD) program implemented by the GoI for creating health awareness and prevention of blindness, tobacco, cancer, high blood pressure, cardiovascular diseases & stroke health care for elderly persons. He added that a few NCD clinics have been established in the already existing health centres in the state and the ANMs and ASHAs will be sensitized on NCD to provide health care services at the health centres and village levels. 

Dr. Kevichusa, MD reflected on the Nagaland health status report at the national level and better health status reports, which includes proper health service delivery, report and documentation. He encouraged all vertical program officers to work together and take up monitoring and supervision activities both at the district and block levels. He also spoke on the ongoing Intensified Mission Indradhanush and the upcoming Measles-Rubella Vaccination Campaign (M-RVC). The meeting was attended by NHM NVBDCP staff. Vote of thanks was given by Dr. Zuben Kikon, deputy CMO Wokha.
