Doubling farmer’s income through poultry farming

Towards achieving farmers’ interest in poultry production, the Nagaland University, Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) provided inputs like chicks, poultry equipments and feeds to farmers on October 25 at Zhaphumi village of Akuluto block in Zunheboto district.

A press release by KVK Zunheboto senior scientist and head, Dr. Rakesh Kumar Chaurasia stated that, earlier under the mission to double the farmer’s income, KVK had adopted Zhaphumi village of Akuluto block in Zunheboto district. KVK had since implemented several technological interventions to improve the income of the farming community. 

Dr. Rakesh Kumar Chaurasia, along with KVK staff of KVK provided each household  of Zhaphumi with chicks and is expected that the farmers will generate income by selling of the matured birds. KVK Zunheboto also stated that, the household requirement of meat will be fulfilled and farmers will be become Atmanirbhar. The KVK mission to double the farmers income will then be achieved.
