DPDB meeting and ePOS training held in Wokha

Monthly district planning and development board (DPDB) meeting was held on January 9 at deputy commissioner conference hall, with vice chairman & DC, Wokha Orenthung Lotha as chairperson.

According to DIPR report, the DC urged all departments in the district to extend cooperation and perform their assigned tasks with outmost sincerity for the forthcoming Republic Day celebration. He further informed that distribution of works will be circulated shortly to all departments. He informed all board members to come prepared with the action plan for deliberation for the 4 selected aspirational villages.
Additional director, Women Resource Development, Kohima V. Sakhrie who also attended the meeting enlightened the members about the various activities undertaken in the district by the department. Sakhrie said, the department focuses mainly in taking up women centric activities to promote socio economic development and livelihood development for the women. He also stated that department was working on providing space for women entrepreneurs and conducting trainings and capacity building programmes for the girl dropouts and for those who have completed their studies in order to create platform for self employment.
DC while launching the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP) calendar 2020 appealed all the departments to support for the successful implementation of various programmes and activities chalked out for the year 2020. DC also requested department of NST and district transport office to present their departmental activities in the next DPDB meeting.
Meanwhile on January 8, training and distribution of electronic Point of Sales (ePOS) device to the FPS/Vcps was held at DC’s conference hall, Wokha. The training was given by project manager, IMPDS (Food & Civil Supplies) Arenba Jamir and technical executive assistant from Integra Company R. Steven the developer of ePIOS devices based ay Bangalore.
Assistant director Food & Civil Supplies, Wokha, K. Mhonthung informed that, as per the new scheme, the ration card holders will be correctly identified and the allotted quantity of rice will be distributed. The beneficiaries will be recognized by cross checking their finger print in aadhar using the biometric system in the biometric machine.
