DPDB meetings held in various districts

District planning and development board (DPDB) meetings for the month of October was conducted in Kohima, Mon and Tseminyu sub-division on October 15 under respective chairmen. 

Kohima: In Kohima, the DPDB meeting was held at DPDB conference hall Kohima, chaired by advisor Urban Development and chairman DPDB, Neikiesalie Nicky Kire.

According to DIPR report, vice chairman DPDB and DC Kohima, Gregory Thejawelie asked the defaulting departments which have not submitted their reasons on failing to provide departmental profile to submit at the earliest. In regard to adoption committee 2019-2020, the committees submitted their adopted villages as follows: Sechü Zubza under 8 Western Angami A/C; Lower PWD under 9 Kohima Town A/C; Chedema Model Village under 10 Northern Angami-I A/C; Zhadima village under 11 Northern Angami-II A/C; Kigwema village under 14 Southern Angami-I A/C and Kedima village under 15 Southern Angami A/C. 

On restriction of plastic use, the DC, Kohima briefed the members on the successful conduct of checking exercise on banned plastic items within the stretch of Kohima town on October 4. DC also requested the members to take it seriously and ensure not to utilise banned plastic items in respective offices. The meeting also recommended Nagaland Veterinarians Association, Tacü Clan Society and Kohima Ao Officertem Telongjem (KAOT) for registration of societies and decided to forward it to the government. Further the meeting decided to hold its next DPDB meeting-cum-day out at Touphema. DC further informed that a sensitization and awareness campaign programme on Accessible India Campaign (AIC), for the district heads of government departments for Kohima will be held on October 18 at 10:30 a.m in the cafeteria hall of NPWD Kohima, he therefore requested all concerned to attend the programme positively.

Mon: Meeting was held along with DC & vice–chairman DPDB Mon, Thavaseelan K at DC’s conference hall, Mon. During the meeting the house approved and recommended for registration of Wangla Society Tizit, Little Planet Foundation Society and UkhaLamlung Welfare Society. Board also discussed on inter-departmental tournament of Mon district which will be held in the month of November 2019.

Tseminyu: Meeting was held at ADC’s conference hall on under the chairmanship of R. Khing, advisor for AH&VS and Women Resources Development. The meeting  discussed on the forthcoming mini hornbill festival-cum-celebration of 50th anniversary of Tseminyu new township to be held from November 27 to 28 at Tseminyu New Town. R. Khing said on the importance of celebrating the 50th years anniversary of Tseminyu new township as the administrative headquarter of Tseminyu sub-division. Advisor, therefore, requested all the concern officers and various committee officials to put their sincere efforts for a significant celebration. 

Zunheboto: In Zunheboto the meeting was held at DC’s conference hall under the chairmanship of the DC, Peter Lichamo. Meeting approved registration of three new societies, namely, Seven sister women society, Alumni Association (Zunheboto Government College) and Parent-teacher Association (Zunheboto Government College). Board also forwarded the request for construction of Riverine Fishery project for community bio-diversity conservation and riverine fishery at Zaphu river stream as an alternative to jhum cultivation and an additional source of income. DC reminded all the departments of the district to strictly implement the ban of single use plastic.
