DPDB, SDPDB meetings held in Mon, Pughoboto

Mon District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) held its meeting on October 22 in the conference hall of the office of deputy commissioner (DC) Mon. The meeting was chaired by DC Mon, Thavaseelan K.

According to a DIPR report, the board passed a proposal for the establishment of Government Primary School at Sheanghah Lokyo village.

The house also deliberated on organising an inter-departmental sports tournament and inauguration of the officers’ lounge at the officers’ club, Mon. 

PowerPoint presentations highlighting department activities in the district were presented by DSCO Mon, Chumei Yanlem for soil & water conservation; ARO Mon, W. Kaiwang Konyak for art & culture and ASO Mon, Keneizetuo Khro for sericulture department.

Pughoboto SDPDB: The monthly meeting of Pughoboto Sub-division Planning & Development Board (SDPDB) was held under the chairmanship of SDPDB vice chairman Y. Vikheho Swu, MLA in the DB court hall, Pughoboto on October 25.

The vice chairman urged EE PWD, Pughoboto to execute the jungle clearance by November and maintain the roads in their areas before the NBCC annual meeting where many delegates from all over Nagaland were expected at Ghatashi town by the beginning of next year.

He lauded the agriculture department for the activities undertaken under Pughoboto sub division and asked the department to come forward and take measures not only to increase the production but also focus on marketing.

He also suggested to sort out some subsidy for marketing shed and facilities.

SDAO Myanthung Patton highlighted department activities on integrated farming system, water harvesting structures, irrigation channels and construction of TRC under PMKSY 2020- 21.

WHS, IFS, fishery-based farming and farm approach roads under RAD, power tiller path, integrated farming system & manuring under RKVY, cultivation of groundnut and soyabean under SMSP and demo on coarse cereals, pulses, oil seeds under NFSM were also highlighted.

The MLA informed the departments to make a proposal for all development works and send to government for the five-year plan which was now taken up under 15 finance commission.

The house approved to resend the letter to the government for land compensation for the Pughoboto mini secretariat where some offices were constructed including a huge solar plant installed.
