DPDB & SDPDB meetings held in Wokha, Tseminyu

Monthly district planning and development board (DPDB) and sub-divisional district planning and development board meetings were held at Wokha and Tseminyu on July 10.

Wokha DPDB: In Wokha the meeting was chaired by vice chairman & deputy commissioner, Dr.Manazir Jeelani Samoon. New DPDB chairman Wokha, Mhathung Yanthan advisor Horticulture also attended the meeting.

According to DIPR report, addressing the planning board meeting the new chairman said that planning board was to address the development activities of the district and he take his new assignment as a challenge and urged the members for full co-operation to make a cohesive team to discharge given responsibilities to meet the aspiration of the people of the district.

He also said that whatever developmental planning is being taken up by the board, there should be logical conclusion for the benefit of the district. Mhathung suggested a periodical visit to all the offices in the district, spot visit to the project sites undertaken by various department.

As the district is observing 2019 as the year of cleanliness with the mottos “cleanliness from within” and “clean Wokha, beautiful Wokha” DPDB has set aside a cash prize for the cleanest colony. Altogether there are 27 colonies in Wokha town where 17 colonies had qualified for the award. Likya colony received the first prize and the second prize was received jointly by Suren & New colony, and the third prize was bagged by Tsumang “B” & NST colony as joint winners. The cash award was funded under LADP Common Pool fund 2019-20, the prizes were handed over by the advisor to the colony chairmen. 

Vice chairman welcomed the new members namely ADC HQ Mhathung Tsanglao, ADC Sanis, Zibenthung Kithan, EAC, (probationer) I. Yentinoungbou and EAC (P) Molosangla Ozukum.

Department of Fishery and Water Resources presented their activities during the meeting. Distribution of work for the forthcoming 15th August Independence Day celebration was also done during the meeting. In view of this, the board decided to have a mass social work on August 10. 

Tseminyu SDPDB: Tseminyu SDPDB held its monthly meeting at ADC conference hall, where ADC Tseminyu, Nokchasashi Kichu as vice chairman SDPDB chaired the meeting. ADC expressed gratitude towards various organizations and departments, particularly to VDBs and Village Council Chairman Association of Tseminyu sub-div for their contributions and support which enabled the Tseminyu administration headed by ADC to successfully hold the inauguration programme for the newly constructed office building of ADC office at Tseminyu town on June 21. Meeting also resolved to conduct mass social work on July 9 in Tseminyu town in view of Independence Day celebration on August 15. 

Dr. Gwathonlo Tsela, veterinary assistant surgeon, Tseminyu gave a brief presentation on the activities of the department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Services.
