DSSU celebrates golden jubilee

Dimapur Süngratsü Students Union (DSSU) celebrated its golden jubilee at Dimapur Government College (DGC) with deputy commissioner, Peren, Sentiwapang Aier as the theme speaker on October 8.

A press release from Dimapur Süngratsü Students Union  stated that, Aier speaking on the occasion opined that students needed to be smart and equipped with the latest technology as students cannot afford to remain relaxed like in the past. One needed to set specific goals both as individual and union as a whole as setting realistic goals was mark of maturity and must come with determination and discipline to make it happen, he added.

He said today the window to the world is in “our” hands and as students it was their duty to learn how to use the power in a responsible manner to become masters and not slave of these powers.

He encouraged the students to rededicate themselves and deliberate on how they can realise the vision of the pioneers.

Aier also released the jubilee souvenir.

Short speeches were delivered by president, Dimapur, Süngratsü Senso Telongjem, Rongsenlemba Mollier, president, Ao Students Union Dimapur, Moayanger Jamir, president, Süngratsü Students Union, Tiongluen Walling and first president of the Students Union, Tongpangzenba Longchar, IFS (Retd.).

Earlier, president Dimapur Süngratsü Students Union, Chubaniksung Longchar welcomed the gathering while convenor, jubilee planning committee, Tsuktiyapang Jamir delivered the vote of thanks.
