DUDA conducts capacity building

Altogether 40 individuals from four districts of Nagaland, namely Tuensang, Mon, Kiphire and Phek living in the international borders of the state underwent capacity building training on RCC building construction.

The three-month long training was sponsored by Department of Under Developed Areas (DUDA), Government of India under Backward Area Development Programe (BADP) 2019 while the training was conducted by Zynorique Initiatives Society at Seithogei Living School, near Kohima Orphanage & Destitute Home Kohima.  It started in the third week of July and concluded Saturday.

DUDA officials informed that BADP is a programme implemented by central government in order to provide economic opportunity for the people living in the international borders of the state by imparting skill development trainings.

DUDA joint director (BADP) Thepfuzakie Angami along with the subordinate officers and staff monitored the training imparted by trainers like head trainer Nagaland Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board and training managers of Zynorique Initiatives Society, James Solo and Seyietsokho.

Proprietor of Zynorique Initiative Society, Richard Belho informed that during the three-month long training the trainees was given hands-on-training on different capacity building. Local contractors were also brought in to see the trainees, he said, adding that the trainees would be getting job placements right after the completion of the training.

DUDA department extended stipend along with a drill machine and certificate to the trainees.
