Dimapur Urban Council Chairman Federation (DUCCF) and GB Union Dimapur- Sadar (GBUD) has appealed to the food and civil supplies (F&CS) department to issue PDS to Priority Households (PHH) ration card holder beneficiaries under the previous system till the completion of the new system.

In a press release, DUCCF president Tsenthungo Lotha and GBUD president MY Ngullie said that the two bodies at a joint meeting thoroughly deliberated on the latest beneficiaries list of PHH ration card given to fair price shops by F&CS department in which names of 50 percent of beneficiaries were not included. They said that PHH ration card holders, as per the instruction from the department, submitted the form along with the required documents for renewal and replacement. The two bodies, however, maintained that ration should be made available to all beneficiaries as per old card in possession with the card holder till the completion of the scrutiny and final new list was prepared. DUCFF and GBUD also stated that half of the genuine beneficiaries would be left out of the scheme if PDS ration was allotted basing on the latest list. They have, therefore, the appealed to the responsible authority to innerve on the issue and do what was necessary for the welfare of the public so as to avoid further confusion.
