Continuing with its efforts to uplift the women street vendors, the Entrepreneurs Associates (EA) on Tuesday organised an interaction programme for women street vendors under the banner “Uplifting Women Street vendors” at Red Cross Building, Kohima.

The project “Uplifting Women Street vendors” was started by EA in 2017 with an aim to train women vendors on areas of basic business skills, financial management, educate them on their basic rights.

Since the project started in 2017, Doulo said 22 percent of the street vendors have started to save from their meagre earnings as against 99.9 percent.

Doulo also urged the women vendors to have self respect, be proud of what they are doing and be honest in their business by rendering their best services to the people. The women were also reminded to maintain a clean and hygienic surrounding in their areas of work.

Jinisha Sharma and Neeta Joshi from Capri Global Ltd, Mumbai in their exhortation advised the women vendors to work hard in their business and not to be discouraged by how people perceived them.

Appreciating the noble cause of EA, Joshi asserted that the project should be replicated by other NGOs to uplift the women from marginalized section of the society.
