Eagles beat Khriekesa in KFL-3

Ten -man Kohima Eagles FC beat Khriekesa FC 4-2 in the Seyie Auto Kohima Football League (KFL)-3 at IG Stadium here on Wednesday. 

Despite their opponent reduced to 10-man after Hekato Aye was send off for two yellow cards in the 31st minute, Khriekesa FC team failed to capitalize the opportunity.

The defensive lapses from the opponent helped Kohima Eagles pulled out a stunning victory. 

Eagles opened the scoring through Kekhrieletuo Tsira in the 6th minute. 

Eight minutes later, Hitova Ayemi got his name in the scoresheet. 

Khriekesa FC got back into the game after Gaibung headed a superb goal in the 28th minute. 

After the breather, Kohima Eagles continued to put pressure as Khakevi Assumi who came in as the substitution made the difference, scoring his first goal in the 52nd minute. And Johnny Ritse converted from a close range in the 70th minute to make it 4-1. 

Khriekesa FC winger Roukuovile Phiwuo did score in the 71st minute but didn’t matter much as Kohima Eagles FC went on the win the match 4-2. 

However,  Kohima Eagles winger Hitova Ayemi and defender Hekato Aye will both missed their last match of the season. 

The win, put Kohima Eagles on 4th position with six points ahead of Khriekesa FC also six points on goal differences from five matches. 

Additional secretary, Anthony Ngullie was the match patron.
