Earth matters

Apropos of the reports in the media that Europe is going through a very hot season this time, it is disturbing to note that climate has been changing precariously due to known and unknown factors. The temperature in France surpassed 45 degrees Celsius for the first time on record on Friday as Europe sweltered in an early summer heatwave that has caused several deaths.

Europe is a continent with fairly cool climate and in the past temperature during summer seasons used to hover around 20 plus. But the recent spurt in temperature level has caused consternation. Once Europe used to be the cradle of great thinkers and philosophers and it gave birth to so many discoveries and inventions. What greatly catalysed and helped achieve remarkable discoveries and inventions was indeed the cool climate. In a hot atmosphere one cannot concentrate much and it will make one restless and uncomfortable. But the cool climate as one of the factors, after the great renaissance in Europe helped achieve marvellous inventions.

So, the climate of a particular country plays an important role in the lives of the people of that country. Unfortunately, the change in the climate is also changing the vibes of the people and thought pattern of the people. When the temperature goes up in these parts of the world and once it remains to be unchanging, viz. if it remains to be hotter like that of in Africa, then a complete change will happen on the people of Europe. Wisdom and prudence will partially give way for instinct. People will become hot-tempered and aggressive, and violence will rule the roost the entire Europe. Will the climate change over the Europe be a slap on its face as a culmination of cessation the centuries old benevolence or bounty of nature on Europe?

The lesson we have to learn from this is nothing but to love our nature and preserve it without spoiling it. As a man who is destined to live here, he has his own responsibilities to preserve our nature. He must think about the largesse of nature and start loving it. He has to refrain from dumping plastic or other wastes which would harm the nature. He also has the responsibility to enlighten others who have not yet understood the importance of keeping the nature unpolluted.

So many rivers in our country carrying life giving water are being made into a dumping yard. A glance at our rivers can tell us one truth that the fresh water carrying rivers are also carrying our filth and dirt. What an unpardonable crime we are committing in the eyes of nature! Let  our sincere effort henceforth be for the preservation of nature. Let our rivers flow with crystal clear water. As a gesture of love for our nature, let us plant as many tree saplings as possible. Also let us not plunder our earth to amass and accrue our wealth If everyone takes a decision not to take too much out of the bosom of earth, then surely earth will be an ideal place. It will not become as harsh as today.
