EBC organises Open Penalty Shootout

Tribal’s United team emerged champions and bagged a cash prize of Rs. 10,000 at the Open Penalty Shootout tournament held at Eastern Bible College premises on Wednesday in aid of the college golden jubilee. 

Diezephe AG church secured the second position and took home a cash prize of Rs. 7000, while Inaka from Tribal’s United team was adjudged the best goalkeeper of the tournament and received a cash prize of Rs. 2000.

A press release by EBC Alumni Association treasurer, Ilika V Aye stated that a brief opening ceremony, a short exhortation was delivered by NCRC general secretary, Rev. Vangpong. Other highlights of the programme included welcome speech by EBC lecturer David Khawbung, special songs by Viwoto G Zhimomi  and Chin Chin, dance by Menpo and friends, invocation by Omekali Yeptho, and benediction by pastor Poseruh . The opening ceremony was led by D S Khiamniungan.  EBC further thanked all teams for their participation and everyone for their contribution o organising the tournament.

14 teams from different colleges and churches participated in the tournament.
