 Zunheboto polling training: DC&DEO Zunheboto, Shanavas C, through a notification has informed all Heads of Offices of various departments under Zunheboto district that the third and final phase of combined election training of all the polling personnel will be held Assembly Constituency segment wise on April 8 at Town Hall, Zunheboto. DIPR reports that in order to ensure cent percent participation and attendance all HoDs have been directed to take personal interest in disseminating the training program well ahead of time to their respective officers and staff requisitioned for polling duties.

Wokha polling officials directed to collect EDC: DC&DEO Wokha, Dr. Manazir Jeelani Samoon, has informed all concerned polling officials who have applied for Election Duty Certificates (EDCs) for the ensuing Lok Sabha Elections to collect the EDC in form 12B from the EDC Facilitation Centre, DC office, Wokha starting from April 6, without fail.

DIPR, in a report added that some applications in Form 12 A have been rejected both from within and outside the district as credentials of the concerned applicants could not be located in the latest e-roll.

EDC forms for Pughoboto poll personnel: The ADC&DEO of Pughoboto has informed all government employees under Pughoboto election district drafted for election duty and who have applied for Election Duty Certificates (EDCs), that EDC/Form-12 B will be issued on April 9 and 10. All concerned individuals are to collect the same from the Pughoboto ADC office.

NPF directs its units: In accordance with a decision taken by the Naga People’s Front (NPF) and declaration of its president Dr. Shürhozelie Liezietsu on March 30, all party men have been directed to immediately constitute Coordination Committees at the divisional, area, town and village unit levels. MP (RS) & secretary general NPF, KG Kenye, in a circular authorized the constitution of more coordination committees as per need for every polling station if the need arises. In the absence of Congress party workers at any level, the NPF party authorities have been entrusted with ensuring that polling agents are appointed at the instance of NPF authorities. All necessary communications may be issued by the party office bearers at their respective levels to their subordinates. The tour itinerary of the candidate KL Chishi will also be intimated at the earliest, the circular said.

Divisional authorities have been directed to extend their fullest cooperation and participation in their respective jurisdiction where the meetings/rallies are to be held.

PDA campaigns in 3 ranges in Wokha: A 3-day campaign in favour of PDA LS candidate, Tokheho Yepthomi was organized on April 3, 4 and 6 at Englan Range, Nrio Range and Chukitong Range under 37 Tuyi Assembly Constituency represented by deputy chief minister, Y. Patton. The deputy chief minister’s Media Cell, in a press release stated that the campaign was led by PS to deputy CM, Hachio Patton and press secretary to deputy CM, Dr. Chanchibemo Shitio.

Congress, NPF campaign in Phek: A NPF and Congress election rally for Congress candidate KL Chishi was held in Phek Town on March 5.

A press release by NPF Central HQs Press Bureau stated that Kuzholuzo Azo Nienu apologized to loyalists of the NPF for not setting up its own NPF candidate for the Lok Sabha Elections, but assured the people that it has been done so for a very good reason. 

MLA from 17th Chizami AC, Khalo described the coming together of the two different political entities as unique, adding that the move has been initiated for a common vision to protect the interests of the Nagas. 

MLA from 18th Chozuba AC, Dr. Chotisuh Sazo, speaking at the rally, reflected on the history of the NPF and stated that the NPF coming forward to extend support to Congress is based on the same ideologies of upholding secularism, a movement to stand against the Citizenship Amendment Bill and for the Naga political issue.
