The Eastern Nagaland College Students' Union (ENCSU) has asked that the Department of Higher Education clarify the reason for the delay in issuing a release order for attached lectures to be sent to their original place of posting. A press release from ENCSU pointed to the Memorandum submitted to the commissioner secretary and the concerned minister in which the union said, it had already granted the the department enough time. “Now it's already going to be 2 months” the release stated. ENCSU urged the department to issue the order immediately.
It further said that it is against the blame game of officials to protect some professors and stated that the union was not agreeable to replacements against attached lecturers. It warned the department to not entertain any offers “from those professors” who do not want to go back to their original posting places. “ENCSU also urge the Department to sent back all the Assistant professors and should not left even a single professor Under any circumstances” the release said. It further asked for the reason of attachment under Directorate of Higher Education as “Scholarship Incharge & OSD”, but also asserted that it would not compromise regarding the posting of professors who were already appointed to the post of lectures/professors.
ENCSU also urged politicians to not involve themselves in order to “save any professors when he/she has fail to exercise their duty in original posting place.” Instead, the union stated, the government should direct these employees to perform their duties and functions. ENCSU appealed to all politicians to hear the weeping of the suffering students and assist them.
