Endangered Pangolins released to Lozaphuhu Wildlife Reserve

Under the community’s conservation efforts, a severely endangered species, Pangolins were released into the Wildlife Reserved Areas at Lozaphuhu Wildlife Reserved Area, Phek on February 22. 

The species were released by ranger, Forest Department Phek in the presence of members from Lozaphuhu village council, students’ union and youth organization. 

Meanwhile, the village council appreciated DFO Phek, DC Phek and Rukusayi Khusoh for donating and facilitating the released of the wild animal into the Lozaphuhu Wildlife Reserved Area, which they termed it as huge encouragement towards the Community’s conservation efforts. 

As per the village resolution, the community reaffirmed to impose heavy penalty against anyone be it its own members or others, who kills any of the severely endangered species not only in the Reserved Area but in the whole of Lozaphuhu village territory.
