Enforcement drive on tobacco in Mon

Enforcement drive on sale of tobacco products was carried out under National Tobacco Control Programme (NTCP) Mon on September 25 at Mon town.

A press release by NTCP Mon stated that, drive was conducted with an initiative to make Mon headquarter tobacco free and for precautionary measures on COVID-19 as tobacco consumers spit in public places. Around 25 shops were found selling tobacco products in Mon town, most of which were small retail shops. The seized products were burnt on the outskirt area of the town.
Further, the team stated that it would continue conducting such enforcement drives all over the districts. Team was led by district consultant, NTCP-Mon E Nyeamying Konyak and DBs from the district administration.
