Eastern Naga Students’ Federation (ENSF) has announced temporary suspension of its indefinite democratic protest due to emergency presidential meeting of six federating units scheduled to be held at ENSF headquarters, Tuensang.

ENSF president Sepili L Sangtam and asst. general secretary Khomo P directed– Confederation of Chang Students’ Union, Khaimniungan Students’ Union, Konyak Students’ Union, Phom Students’ Conference, United Sangtam Students’ Conference and Yimchunger Akheru Arih-Ako– to reach Tuensang by Saturday, including all advisers and former leaders of ENSF. It, however, warned that the proposed agitation would resume anytime as and when decided.
ENSF also regretted that in spite of its agitation having entered fifth day, the government was giving a cold shoulder to its demands, which only showed how little concern it had for Eastern Nagas, deprived of their rights.
Meanwhile, the third phase of agitation passed off peacefully with volunteers of having locked district administration offices in all five districts besides restricting movement of government vehicles.
