ENSUB celebrates fresher’s meet in Bangalore

Eastern Nagaland Students’ Union Bangalore (ENSUB) celebrated its 14th annual fresher’s meet under the theme, “Explore the treasures of passion in you” on September 22 at United Theological College (UTC) Bangalore. The freshers’ meet is celebrated every year to welcome new members from Eastern Naga community.

A special prayer for the Fresher’s was led by Atok. Adila, wife of Kashiho Sangtam, minister Soil Conservation Geology & Mining, Nagaland delivered a speech about the importance of strong determination and keeping Naga culture alive outside Nagaland. She summed up the speech by stating “Make your mark in this world and bring your passion to another level.”

The tribal attire show added extra flavour to the program by showcasing the rich culture and tradition of the Eastern Nagas. Tantsukiu from Tikhir tribe and Tsukhumla from Yimchunger tribe were crowned Mr and Ms Freshers 2018, respectively. Nagamese singer and composer David Konyak entertained the crowd with his melodious songs.

Other highlights of the event were folk songs, a welcome speech from president of ENSUB Pongkhyuse Sangtam, speech on behalf of fresher’s from Denlei, exhortation by Rilipong Sangtam (advisor ENSUB) and solidarity speech by NSUB.
