Clarifying to the statement of assistant district coordinator (ADC), Samagra Shiksha Zunheboto, Ahito. P published on August 10, the Eastern Sumi Students’ Union (ESSU) said that it was waiting for the response to its August 6 ultimatum from the state authority that ends on August 20.

A press rejoinder by ESSU president Hokato V. Yepthomi stated that the incumbent ADC, Samagra Shiksha Zunheboto, Ahito. P as project assistant in Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA) was the in-charge of school building projects under Aghunato sub-division. ESSU further stated that the incumbent ADC, Samagra Shiksha Zunheboto assisted by some SSA officials undertook the construction of all the school building projects under Aghunato sub-division and not the Village Education Committees/SMCs as claimed in the press release.
When the school building projects were left incomplete and abandoned and bank passbooks/cheque books of Village Education Committees/SMCs were kept in the custody of DPO, SSA without authorization, the ESSU stated that several village authorities and ESSU approached the deputy commissioner and district education officer Zunheboto.
ESSU further warned the ADC, Samagra Shiksha Zunheboto not to misuse the office while desperately attempting to mislead the district and state officials as facts cannot be distorted.
While reposing full faith on the state authorities to meet the demands of the ESSU as “in this kind of prima facie case it would be easy to act to take right decision” therefore, the ESSU stated that defaulters should not be offered “undue opportunity to bite off more than they can chew.”
